FDCP announces 2025 Parangal ng Sining awardees

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) announced the recipients of the 2025 Parangal ng Sining awards, celebrating excellence and innovation in Philippine cinema.

Former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada, actress and producer Charo Santos-Concio, actress and director Laurice Guillen, and filmmaker Lav Diaz will receive lifetime achievement awards.

The annual achievement awards will also honor the animated film 'Iti Mapukpukaw,' which won Best Animated Film at the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, 'Sunshine,' which won the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, and Judy Ann Santos, who was named Best Actress at the 45th Fantasporto Film Festival.

FDCP chairperson Jose Javier Reyes highlighted the significant industry contributions of each awardee.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for April 11 at 5 p.m. at Seda Vertis North, Quezon City, with Iza Calzado as host.

This year's theme, 'Ang Mga Higante ng Kasaysayan ng Ating Pelikula: Tradisyon at Ebolusyon,' honors the evolution of Filipino cinema.
