Escudero tells Guo not to dictate Senate priorities

Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero stated that suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is not in a position to dictate the Senate's priorities, following her suggestion that senators focus on other national issues instead of her case.

Guo, who has a Senate arrest warrant, had previously questioned why senators appeared focused on her case instead of addressing critical national issues like food shortages and healthcare.

Escudero acknowledged Guo's right to issue statements and defend herself but cautioned her against imposing her personal interests or perspective on lawmakers.

He emphasized that the Senate is obligated to protect the interest of Filipinos by conducting public hearings, even as Guo faces investigations and allegations related to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) crimes.
