Escudero not surprised by political family rifts

Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero stated that he is not surprised by potential misunderstandings within political families, especially with elections approaching.

He commented on the alleged rift between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Senator Imee Marcos, saying that siblings can resolve their disagreements in time.

Escudero's remarks followed speculation about a rift, which intensified after President Marcos Jr. appeared to omit his sister's name during campaign endorsements.

Senator Imee Marcos had also expressed uncertainty about her inclusion in her brother's endorsed senatorial lineup.

The rumors of an alleged rift between the president and his sister gained traction after the senator decided to distance herself from the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

Escudero declined to comment further, citing his grandfather's advice not to meddle in family disputes.

He noted that political families often have differences, especially nearing elections.
