PAGASA forecasts heavy rains in Luzon due to enhanced monsoon

PAGASA forecasts persistent heavy rains in Luzon due to the enhanced Southwest Monsoon, with varying rainfall amounts and durations across different regions.

From Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and Iloilo may receive 50 to 100 mm of rain.

Heavy rainfall warnings continue, with Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro predicted to receive 100 to 200 mm from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.

Metro Manila and several other Luzon provinces, including Pangasinan, La Union, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal, are expected to experience 50 to 100 mm of rain during the same period.

From Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon, Zambales, Bataan, Pangasinan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique could receive 100 to 200 mm of rain.

More areas will experience 50 to 100 mm of rain from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon, including Metro Manila, Ilocos provinces, Benguet, and several Visayas and Bicol provinces.

PAGASA warns of potential flooding and landslides in vulnerable and low-lying areas.

In Quezon City, preemptive evacuations were conducted early Sunday morning due to the La Mesa Dam's water level reaching 79.80 meters.
