El Shaddai bishop distances community from Velarde's endorsement of Marcos Jr.

Bishop Teodoro Bacani, spiritual adviser of the El Shaddai community, has officially distanced himself from Brother Mike Velarde's endorsement of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte for the upcoming elections.

Bacani stated that the endorsement was not discussed with other El Shaddai leaders and declared it "maling mali" or very wrong.

He specifically expressed strong opposition to Marcos Jr.'s presidential bid, stating that if anyone should not be elected president, it is Bongbong Marcos.

Bacani clarified that Velarde's endorsement is personal and not of the entire El Shaddai community, emphasizing that members are free to vote for their chosen candidates.

He criticized Marcos Jr. by saying that he and his family have not shown remorse for the atrocities and billions of pesos stolen during the martial law era.
