EJ Obiena launches Milo-backed pole vault clinics nationwide

Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena is initiating the "Six Meter Initiative" in partnership with Milo to conduct pole vault clinics across the Philippines, aiming to discover new talent and provide opportunities for aspiring athletes.

Obiena, currently the world's No. 3 pole vaulter, expressed his desire to set up a dedicated pole vaulting facility in the country and nurture the next generation of athletes.

He believes that the Philippines has the potential to excel in pole vaulting and wants to ensure that anyone interested has access to facilities and opportunities.

This initiative coincides with a high interest in sports among Filipino youth, highlighted by the nation's strong performance in the Paris Olympics.

Obiena, who narrowly missed a medal in the Olympics, aims to give back to the sport that has significantly contributed to his career, citing his own journey of being discovered and trained abroad.

The program's shared goal with Milo is to develop pole vaulting in the country, building on Obiena's international achievements.
