EJ Obiena bags 3rd Asian Athletics gold medal

Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena secured his third consecutive gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea.

He successfully defended his title, winning the gold medal by clearing 5.77 meters in a jump-off against China's Huang Bokai.

This victory adds to his previous gold medals won in 2019 and 2023, where he also set the Asian championship record.

Huang Bokai took home the silver medal, and Thailand's Patsapong Amsamarng won the bronze.

Another Filipino competitor, Hokkett Delos Santos, finished in 13th place.
