Duterte seeks funds for free public masks

President Duterte is looking for funds to acquire masks that will be given for free to the public as a preventive measure against the coronavirus.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque affirmed the President's resolve to distribute free masks, especially to the poor.

He mentioned that if not everyone can be provided with masks, the government hopes to give them to many Filipinos.

Duterte also directed the police to intensify the arrest of people who break health rules on wearing face masks and observing social distancing.

He emphasized the importance of wearing masks to help prevent disease transmission and suggested reusing them by washing and spraying with alcohol.
