Duterte appoints BCDA chief Dizon deputy COVID-19 response czar

President Duterte has appointed Vivencio Dizon, president of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), as the deputy chief implementer of the country's coronavirus response.

Dizon will work alongside Presidential peace adviser Carlito Galvez Jr., who serves as the chief implementer of the government's COVID-19 policy.

Dizon's designation aims to ensure the continuous and effective delivery of public service in the fight against COVID-19.

Before this appointment, Dizon had already been instrumental in establishing temporary quarantine and isolation facilities by converting several buildings.

As of April 29, the government has successfully converted 17 facilities with a total of 3,086 beds to house COVID-19 patients with mild or asymptomatic cases.
