DTI appoints new acting directors for CIAP and PCAB

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina Roque has appointed Doris Gacho as acting executive director of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) and Engr. Sergie Retome as acting executive director of the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB).

These interim appointments are part of efforts to restore investor confidence and maintain continuity in the infrastructure sector amidst ongoing investigations into irregularities in flood-control projects.

Secretary Roque assumed direct supervision of both CIAP and PCAB on September 3 to ensure integrity and transparency in project handling.

The temporary leadership appointments will continue until the Civil Service Commission (CSC) finalizes permanent replacements.

The DTI has also established an Oversight and Fact-Finding Management Team to address issues, including current PCAB licensing concerns, underscoring the DTI's commitment to public interest, accountability, transparency, and good governance.
