DTI, DepEd partner for SHS e-commerce track

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Education (DepEd), and Thames International School have partnered to introduce an e-commerce track for senior high school (SHS) students.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara stated that the track aims to equip students to be "Filipino entrepreneurs and digital leaders" for in-demand jobs.

Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual emphasized that this initiative is a strategic step towards creating a future-ready, digital, and AI-driven workforce.

The new track will focus on skills such as digital marketing, supply chain and logistics, data analytics, and online security computer systems.

Thames Co-Founder and President Jaime Noel J. Santos indicated that the program is targeted for implementation within the current school year, with students able to transfer tracks.

The program will initially be piloted by Thames International School in approximately 50 selected schools in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon for about 1,000 students, chosen for their high concentration of e-commerce companies.
