DSWD receives P600M additional fund for typhoon victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has received an additional P600 million for its quick response fund (QRF) to aid victims of typhoons Rolly and Ulysses, bringing its total standby funds to P1.4 billion.

The DSWD central and field offices have P888 million available for disaster response.

More than 278,000 food packs are pre-positioned in typhoon-hit areas, with thousands already distributed.

An initial P3.9 million has been released to augment local government units' relief efforts.

The DSWD Ilocos regional office has over P6.7 million in its QRF and 9,192 family food packs available for disaster operations in the region.

DSWD-1 also has 14,129 non-food items, such as hygiene kits, family kits, kitchen kits, and sleeping kits, ready for distribution.

The DSWD is prepared to assist Filipinos affected by both typhoons, which have caused widespread damage and displacement.
