DSWD personnel receive first COVID-19 vaccine dose

A total of 100 personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), identified under the A4 priority group, have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccination drive, considered a significant milestone by the DSWD, commenced with a ceremonial vaccination on June 16, 2021, at the East Avenue Medical Center.

This initiative was made possible through a partnership between the DSWD and the Department of Health (DOH).

The majority of the vaccinated employees are from the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU), which provides immediate assistance to individuals and families in crisis, as well as personnel from the DSWD-Program Management Bureau.

These CIU personnel are stationed at the DSWD's Central Office, Field Offices, and satellite offices.

A social worker highlighted the importance of the vaccine for her protection and the safety of the clients she assists.
