DSWD gives P19.77 million aid to Eastern Visayas storm victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided ₱19.77 million in aid to Eastern Visayas residents affected by Severe Tropical Storm Opong.

A total of 32,371 boxes of family food packs, 400 boxes of ready-to-eat food, and 151 non-food items were distributed.

The DSWD provided immediate aid to rescued residents and fishermen reported missing, with survivors receiving food packs, non-food items, and ₱10,000 in cash assistance for medical needs.

As of their latest data, the DSWD has provided more than ₱224 million worth of assistance to families hit by the combined effects of tropical depression Mirasol, super typhoon Nando, and severe tropical storm Opong.
