DSWD distributes food aid to stranded passengers due to TD Verbena

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has begun distributing food aid, including ready-to-eat meals, to passengers stranded at various ports across the Philippines due to Tropical Depression Verbena.

DSWD field offices in Calabarzon and the Negros Island Region have already provided assistance to affected individuals in their areas.

Specifically, the Dalahican Port in Lucena City saw 94 stranded passengers receive food boxes, while the BREODC Port in Bacolod City provided aid to approximately 100 passengers.

Additionally, 39 passengers at the Surigao City Port received similar assistance.

These ready-to-eat food (RTEF) boxes contain halal-certified meals designed to sustain individuals for 24 to 48 hours during a typhoon's impact.

Each RTEF box includes items such as tuna paella, chicken pastil, giniling, arroz caldo, champorado, protein biscuits, and infant food.
