DSWD, DICT launch ReliefAgad app for cash aid distribution

The Departments of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have launched the 'ReliefAgad' mobile application to streamline the distribution of emergency cash aid.

The app was developed to address challenges encountered during the first tranche of payouts, such as a lack of beneficiary data and delays from manual distribution.

Beneficiaries who have received a Social Amelioration Card (SAC) can register via the app by inputting their information and choosing a payment method like GCash, PayMaya, or cash distribution by local officials.

The ReliefAgad app utilizes the RapidPass platform and allows beneficiaries to submit details directly, integrating with electronic payment systems for faster aid delivery.

As of May 12, over 16.6 million beneficiaries had received more than P93.6 billion in SAP aid, with the DSWD preparing to distribute a second tranche to low-income families, especially those in enhanced community quarantine areas.
