DSWD assists 8.2 million Filipinos through AICS in 2025

Up to 8.2 million Filipinos nationwide received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program in 2025.

This number exceeded the agency's increased target of 6.9 million beneficiaries for 2025, achieving an accomplishment rate of 119.48%.

Central Luzon had the highest number of assisted individuals with over 800,000, followed by Cagayan Valley and Calabarzon.

The AICS program provides immediate, short-term support including medical, transportation, burial, food, assistive devices, psychosocial support, and cash relief.

The DSWD welcomed the approval of a P63.9 billion budget for the AICS program this year, an increase from the original proposal of P26.9 billion, which is expected to help an estimated eight million more Filipinos.
