DSWD appeals for volunteers for food repacking operations

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is appealing for volunteers to assist in their food repacking operations at the Luzon Disaster Resource Center (LDRC) in Pasay City.

The LDRC, formerly the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), is where family food packs (FFPs) are being produced for calamity-stricken communities.

DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao emphasized the importance of volunteers in ensuring sufficient FFPs are readily available for deployment before storms make landfall.

She highlighted the need for constant preparedness due to the frequency of typhoons entering the country during this season.

Cash-for-work beneficiaries under the DOLE's TUPAD program also volunteered their time at the LDRC.
