DSWD provides medical aid to nearly 1 million Filipinos in H1 2025

Close to 1 million Filipinos received medical aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program in the first half of 2025.

The agency assisted a total of 953,560 clients with over PHP8.5 billion in medical aid from January to June.

Of these, 670,825 clients received outright cash assistance of up to PHP10,000.

Additionally, 282,735 clients were provided with guarantee letters for hospitalization costs, medicine, and diagnostic procedures.

The DSWD also reported serving 88,082 clients through Malasakit Centers located in public hospitals.

Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao stated that assisting many Filipinos aligns with the DSWD's mandate and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to value every life.
