Dr. Willie Ong endorses Bam Aquino for Senate

Cardiologist and social media personality Dr. Willie Ong has officially endorsed former Senator Bam Aquino's bid for a Senate seat in the upcoming May 2025 midterm elections.

Dr. Ong expressed his support, stating, "Sinusuportahan ko ang kandidatura ni Senator Bam Aquino dahil sa kaniyang adbokasiya para sa libreng edukasyon" (I support the candidacy of Senator Bam Aquino because of his advocacy for free education).

He drew a parallel between his own lifelong mission as a doctor serving Filipinos and Aquino's dedication to serving the country as a Senator.

Ong, who himself withdrew his senatorial candidacy earlier this year due to a sarcoma cancer diagnosis, was seen in photos and videos raising Aquino's hand and displaying the number "5" sign, which is Aquino's ballot number.

Aquino and his wife, Timi, visited Dr. Ong at his office in Pasay City, where the endorsement took place.

This endorsement comes after Dr. Ong's previous run for vice president in 2022 alongside Isko Moreno and his subsequent withdrawal from the Senate race in February 2025.
