The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to complete 300 quarantine facilities with a total of 12,200 beds by the end of August, according to Secretary Mark Villar.

Villar, who also serves as the isolation czar, announced that approximately 210 additional intensive care unit (ICU) beds will be available at the East Avenue Medical Center by August 17.

The DPWH is assisting the Department of Health (DOH) in the project implementation at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) is collaborating with the government to establish the facility at EAMC.

Additionally, the DPWH will construct pop-up hospitals at Quirino Hospital and Quezon Institute, adding another 110 ICU beds.

Currently, there are 95 ongoing facility projects that will provide nearly 3,000 additional bed capacities this month.
