DPWH Usec denies budget insertion allegations

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon stated that Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral denied allegations of attempting to insert items into the 2026 national budget.

Senator Panfilo Lacson had previously claimed that an undersecretary from DPWH contacted Senate Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III's staff to request these budget insertions.

Dizon mentioned that Cabral directly denied the accusation to him and was instructed to explain herself at the Senate.

Cabral, who oversees budget preparation and PPP projects at DPWH, declined to comment when approached by ABS-CBN News as she headed to a Senate hearing.

A decision will be made by Dizon in the coming days regarding Cabral's position.
