DPWH engineers investigated for fake licenses, kickbacks

Two Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) engineers are under investigation for allegedly using fake driver's licenses, identified by the aliases Marvin Santos De Guzman and Joseph Castro Villegas.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) confirmed that no licenses were issued under these names, and has been ordered to issue a Show Cause Order against the engineers.

These licenses were reportedly used by the engineers to gain entry into casinos.

The DPWH engineers are also facing accusations of awarding government projects to contractors in exchange for kickbacks.

Both engineers acknowledged visiting casinos after work hours, though details about their gambling activities were not disclosed.

The investigation is part of a Senate blue ribbon committee probe into flood-control projects, chaired by Senator Rodante Marcoleta.

The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has directed the LTO to verify license authenticity and reiterated its commitment to integrity and accountability.
