DOTr to complete 16,575 housing units for NSCR displaced families by end of 2026

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is set to finish 16,575 housing units by the end of 2026 for families displaced by the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project.

For the southern segment of the NSCR, the DOTr is collaborating with the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) to provide housing in various locations in Laguna and Cavite, including Sining Residence I and II, The Meadows, Rizal Ville, and Naic.

Specific to the southern segment, Sining Residence II will have 1,920 units, Sining Residence I will have 528 units, The Meadows will have 2,030 units, Rizal Ville will have 2,130 units, and Naic in Cavite will have 5,452 units.

Additionally, the agency is working with the National Housing Authority (NHA) for relocation sites in Pampanga and Bulacan to house affected families.

DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez highlighted that this initiative directly addresses President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to expedite housing for families impacted by the NSCR operations.
