DOTr to build covered walkway between SM North EDSA and Trinoma malls

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will construct a covered walkway connecting SM North EDSA and Trinoma malls in Quezon City.

DOTr is collaborating with the mall operators to expedite the project, acknowledging the inconvenience and flooding commuters face with the current path.

DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez stated that the walkway needs a roof to ease the burden on passengers, especially during rains.

The walkway is located between the MRT-3 North Avenue Station and the soon-to-rise MRT-7 North Triangle Common Station.

The walkway will eventually be linked to the Common Station, providing access to MRT-3, LRT-1, and MRT-7.

Both the Common Station and a portion of the MRT-7 line are slated to open in 2027.
