3 new EDSA busway stations up for construction
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) plans to build three new stations for the EDSA Busway in Cubao, Magallanes, and PITX, with construction expected to be completed within a year starting in 2026.
DOTr Undersecretary Mark Steven Pastor stated that the new stations aim to improve and speed up travel time along EDSA for public transportation.
The new EDSA Busway Kamuning Station, which will feature elevators and escalators to enhance accessibility, is set to be inaugurated in the first quarter of 2026.
A footbridge separate from the MRT-3 is also planned for the Kamuning area.
To accommodate more commuters during rehabilitation works, the DOTr has ordered bus operators to deploy additional units along the EDSA Carousel.
Additionally, the MRT-3 has increased its capacity by deploying Dalian trains during peak hours, and 80 personnel are assisting in traffic management.
