DOTr studies BRT system for España-Quezon Ave

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is studying the establishment of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system along España Boulevard and Quezon Avenue, a route identified as vital for students and daily commuters.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon stated that the proposed busway is approximately 15 kilometers long, and a feasibility study is currently underway.

The government plans to fund and construct the infrastructure, with operations and maintenance to be privatized through bidding.

This initiative is inspired by the success of the EDSA Busway, which currently handles over 300 buses and approximately 200,000 passengers daily.

Separately, Secretary Dizon expressed confidence that three operational stations of the Metro Manila Subway Project will be completed by the end of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s term.
