DOTr says public transport exempt from NCR Plus curfew

Public transportation is exempt from the curfew imposed in the NCR Plus bubble from March 29 to April 4.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) confirmed that public transport operations can continue 24/7 despite the 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew.

This exemption aims to ensure the continued operation of essential transport services during the ECQ period.

The DOTr reminded public transport operators that they are not covered by the curfew.

Transportation Assistant Secretary Mark Steven Pastor advised operators to start operations earlier to avoid checkpoints.

Pastor noted that many authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) experienced difficulties commuting because public utility vehicles got stuck in checkpoints on the first day of ECQ.
