Vico Sotto, Vince Dizon tackle subway station ROW issues

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto met to address right-of-way issues affecting the Ortigas Station of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).

The meeting and site inspection were conducted to find solutions and expedite the construction of the station, which is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s "Build Better More" program.

Secretary Dizon expressed optimism that construction could begin within a few weeks.

Mayor Sotto pledged the Pasig City local government unit's commitment to assisting the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in resolving remaining bottlenecks.

The P488.5-billion subway project will span 37 kilometers with 17 stations connecting Quezon City and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay.

It is expected to reduce travel time between these points from over an hour to 45 minutes.
