DOTr Oplan Undas ready for All Souls' Day travelers

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced its Oplan Undas is fully prepared for the anticipated surge of travelers during the observance of All Souls' Day.

Acting DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez urged motorists to ensure their vehicles and personal readiness for long journeys to guarantee road safety, advising commuters to check tires and brakes and be conditioned physically and mentally for driving.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang has offered to provide up to five liters of free fuel to motorists who might run out of gas on the expressways, with fuel trucks stationed in strategic locations.

Lopez mentioned that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and deputized traffic enforcers will be deployed on expressways.

Businessman Manny V. Pangilinan has also extended his assistance by ensuring clean restrooms in tollways and major roads.
