DOTr to offer free train rides on LRT, MRT lines from Dec. 14 to 25
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will offer free rides on the MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 from December 14 to December 25.
This initiative is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to provide commuters with a pleasant holiday travel experience.
Each day from December 14 to December 24 is designated for specific sectors, including senior citizens, students, OFWs, teachers, health workers, PWDs, government employees, uniformed personnel, and private sector workers.
Additional groups that can avail of free rides on specific dates include families, solo parents, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, male and female passengers on separate days, and house helpers.
On Christmas Day, December 25, all commuters can enjoy free rides on these public transportation lines throughout their operating hours.
