DOTr warns 4 bus firms over makeshift terminals on EDSA

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has warned four bus companies—Philtranco, Mega Bus, Ten Ten, and RMB—for operating makeshift terminals along EDSA Malibay, Pasay City, which lack proper passenger facilities.

These unauthorized terminals reportedly leave passengers in a "deplorable state" due to the absence of chairs, roofing, ventilation, and comfort rooms.

Dizon has instructed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to summon the bus companies and study applicable penalties and sanctions.

A surprise inspection revealed that the bus lines were operating in a terminal lacking basic amenities, with inconsistent schedules and substandard services.

While an investigation into proper permits is underway, Dizon opted against immediate closure to avoid disrupting Holy Week travel plans.
