DOTr allows 268 buses on NIA Road to ease MRT-3 transfers

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has allowed 268 buses to use NIA Road in Quezon City during peak hours to ease commuter transfers to the MRT-3.

Special permits were issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board for buses coming from Sapang Palay and Fairview.

The buses will operate on NIA Road from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the arrangement subject to review.

This initiative aims to shorten the walking distance for commuters, especially seniors and persons with disabilities, to reach the MRT-3.

Traffic enforcers from the Philippine Coast Guard and Land Transportation Office have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow.
