PH lures Hollywood to film in country

The Philippines is actively inviting Hollywood executives to film in the country, highlighting its diverse natural scenery and skilled workforce.

First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, and Trade Secretary Cristina Roque led efforts to attract international film productions during a gathering in California.

The initiative, part of the "Expanding The Bridge Initiative," aims to reintroduce the Philippine film industry to Hollywood and showcase the nation's locations, culture, and talent.

Secretary Frasco emphasized the Philippines' appeal, noting its over 7,600 islands and varied destinations, from beaches in Boracay and Palawan to landscapes in Batanes and urban settings like Intramuros.

She also pointed out the availability of filming incentives and the Filipinos' strong English proficiency and creative workforce.
