DOT: Boracay, Baguio lead PH tourist arrivals during holidays

Local tourist destinations across the Philippines experienced a significant influx of Filipino visitors during the recent holiday break, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Boracay Island recorded the highest number of arrivals with 118,745 visitors between December 15 and 28, boosted further by cruise ship passengers.

Baguio City followed closely, attracting 117,137 tourists from December 15 to 31, drawn by its cool Christmas season weather.

Despite facing disasters in 2025, Cebu City welcomed 102,124 visitors during the same period, while Panglao Island in Bohol hosted 62,240 tourists.

In Eastern Visayas, Malajog Beach in Calbayog City, Samar, was the most popular spot with 56,543 guests, and Tacloban City saw 25,194 tourists.

Northern Luzon also saw substantial tourist numbers, with La Union attracting 47,338 travelers, Ilocos Sur with 32,234, and Nueva Vizcaya with 10,012 from December 15 to 31.

Popular beach destinations in Luzon, including Palawan's El Nido (40,000 tourists), Coron (17,850 tourists), and Puerto Galera (13,204 tourists), also reported high visitor numbers.
