DOST inaugurates 7th Advanced Manufacturing Center in Calabarzon

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) inaugurated its seventh Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) in Calabarzon, located at the Laguna State Polytechnic University in San Pablo City.

This facility, officially launched on September 1, 2025, is part of the country's push for industrialization and inclusive growth.

DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr. called AMCen a "transformative force" that will shape the future of the nation's industrial sector.

The center will serve as the country's premier hub for additive manufacturing, offering services such as prototyping, materials development, consultancy, and training.

It aims to accelerate regional development, enhance local industries, and strengthen the Philippines' position in the global manufacturing landscape by equipping industries, MSMEs, and innovators for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Calabarzon plays a significant role in the Philippines' manufacturing sector, contributing nearly half of the sector's revenue according to 2022 data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
