DOLE to start cash aid distribution in early November

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will begin distributing cash aid under Bayanihan 2 by the first week of November to assist workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The financial assistance will be provided through the Tulong Panghanabuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), and Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) programs.

DOLE has received P13 billion from the Department of Budget and Management for these programs, with P6 billion for TUPAD, P5 billion for CAMP, and P2 billion for AKAP.

Over 2 million displaced formal and informal workers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are expected to benefit from these programs.

DOLE Undersecretary Joji Aragon assured that those who were not served under Bayanihan 1 will be prioritized for Bayanihan 2, with a shortened application process.

The distribution of the cash aid is scheduled to commence in the first week of November.
