DOLE OKs PHP50 daily wage hike for NCR minimum wage earners

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that a PHP50 daily wage increase for minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region (NCR) will take effect on Friday, July 18, 2025.

This wage adjustment, in accordance with Wage Order No. NCR-26, will raise the daily minimum wage from PHP645 to PHP695 for those in the non-agriculture sector.

Workers in agriculture, small retail/service establishments, and small manufacturing businesses will see their daily minimum wage rise from PHP608 to PHP658.

Approximately 1.2 million minimum wage earners in Metro Manila are expected to benefit from this increase, which was approved by the regional wage board on June 30.

A labor group, the Federation of Free Workers (FFW), welcomed the wage hike, viewing it as a positive step despite acknowledging it may not fully cover workers' needs.
