DOLE job fairs offer 13,744 vacancies to POGO-displaced workers

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) organized job fairs on October 10 to offer approximately 13,744 job vacancies to workers displaced by the ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

The job fairs were held simultaneously at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque and Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati, with 108 employers participating.

A total of 340 POGO workers registered for the event, and 33 were hired on the spot for various positions such as barista, sales consultant, and driver.

Additionally, 186 other jobseekers secured employment, and 145 were considered near hires pending further requirements.

DOLE-NCR partnered with the City Governments of Parañaque and Makati, along with their respective Public Employment Service Offices (PESO), to facilitate the event.

A one-stop-shop service was available at both venues to assist applicants with their pre-employment requirements.
