DOJ dismisses Duterte's complaints vs Abalos, Marbil over Quiboloy arrest

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has dismissed malicious mischief and violation of domicile complaints filed by former President Rodrigo Duterte against former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rommel Marbil, and other officials.

The complaints stemmed from the serving of warrants against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy in August 2024, where Duterte alleged damage to the KOJC compound gate and illegal entry into residential quarters.

In a joint resolution, the DOJ found no evidence of malice in the actions of the respondents, stating that the scale and nature of the operation were insufficient to prove intent.

The DOJ also dismissed the violation of domicile complaint, noting that no evidence was presented to show that police officers forcibly entered any premises in defiance of the law or without a search warrant.
