DOJ dismisses complaint vs Gretchen Barretto, others in missing sabungeros case

Claudine Barretto celebrated the dismissal of the complaint against her sister, Gretchen Barretto, and others regarding the missing sabungeros case.

Claudine reposted the news on Facebook, stating "The truth is out! God is on our side always!" and used hashtags like #justicewillprevail and #proudsister.

Gretchen was implicated after witness Julie "Dondon" Patidongan linked her and businessman Atong Ang to the case.

Patidongan claimed Gretchen agreed during a meeting that cheating sabungeros should be dealt with.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) dropped the charge, citing that the evidence against the so-called Pitmaster Alpha Group is speculative and uncorroborated.

The resolution further noted that there was no showing of direct orders, participation in logistics, or knowledge of specific abductions by the group, and their alleged 'approval' during meetings was unsupported.
