IATF: Gov't ready to listen to public sentiments on ECQ
The Department of Health (DOH) is tasked by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to finalize an analytical model for determining the potential lifting, extension, or expansion of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon.
This sub-technical working group (TWG) is chaired by the DOH and includes members from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and representatives from the health, economic, and security sectors, as well as the academe.
Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles stated that the TWG's recommendation will be the basis for the IATF's decision on the matter.
Nograles previously emphasized that 'science is in charge' and debunked rumors of a 60-day ECQ extension as 'fake news'.
The ECQ was originally set to expire on April 12.
The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) was also added as a member of the IATF.
