Vergeire appointed DOH chief of undersecretaries, Tayag named CIO

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa appointed Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire as the chief of undersecretaries overseeing DOH operations nationwide.

In her new role, Vergeire will coordinate the activities of five undersecretaries responsible for different regions: NCR, Southern Luzon, Northern and Central Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Secretary Herbosa stated that Vergeire's experience as the former officer-in-charge is crucial for achieving the DOH's operational goals.

Undersecretary Enrique Tayag has been appointed as the DOH's chief information officer, a move aligning with Herbosa's priority to digitally transform the department.

Tayag's previous experience includes serving as the director of the Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service from 2016 to 2022.

The digitalization of healthcare services is a key focus, aiming for accessibility even in remote areas.
