DOH reports 7,625 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 7,625 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total infections in the Philippines to 2,705,792.

The number of recoveries more than doubled with 13,363 new patients recovering, increasing the total to 2,586,369 or 95.6 percent of all cases.

The country's active cases decreased to 78,999.

There were 203 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 40,424.

Of the active cases, 80.6 percent have mild symptoms, 7.38 percent have moderate symptoms, 6.4 percent are asymptomatic, 3.9 percent have severe symptoms, and 1.7 percent are in critical condition.

On Wednesday, 14.9 percent of 49,655 administered Covid-19 tests were positive.
