PH logs 4,281 new COVID-19 cases, down 35% weekly

The Philippines logged 4,281 new COVID-19 cases from June 12 to 18, marking a 35 percent decrease from the previous week.

This represents the lowest weekly case count in seven weeks, although it is still above 1,000 cases for the 14th consecutive week.

Out of the new infections, 57 were categorized as severe or critical, a 9 percent decrease from the prior week.

As of Sunday, 10.6 percent of total COVID-19 admissions were in severe and critical condition.

The country reported one verified COVID-19 death from May during the past week.

COVID-19 intensive care unit bed utilization stood at 16.6 percent, while non-ICU bed utilization was at 19.5 percent.

The DOH tracker shows there were 8,659 active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of June 19.
