DOH reports 279 additional Delta variant cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported an additional 279 cases of the Delta variant, bringing the total number of detected Delta variant cases in the Philippines to 2,068.

The Delta variant has now been detected in all regions of the Philippines, including five local cases in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Mindanao (BARMM), which was previously the last region without detected local cases.

Of the newly reported Delta variant cases, 245 are local transmissions, 21 are returning overseas Filipinos, and 13 are still under verification.

Among the 279 additional Delta variant cases, two are still active, eight have resulted in fatalities, and 267 have recovered.

In addition to the Delta variant cases, 29 Alpha variant cases, 28 Beta variant cases, and 13 P3 variant cases were also detected.
