DOH logs 2,232 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,232 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, marking five consecutive days with under 3,000 infections.

Active COVID-19 cases have fallen to 65,796, with approximately 93 percent experiencing mild or asymptomatic symptoms.

The country recorded 3,010 new recoveries, bringing the total to 3,527,720, which is 96.7 percent of confirmed cases.

There were 79 new deaths, bringing the country's total fatalities to 55,409 or 1.52 percent of all confirmed cases.

On Wednesday, 29,812 COVID-19 tests were administered, resulting in a positivity rate of 9.1 percent.

Nationwide, ICU bed occupancy is at 31 percent, isolation beds at 27 percent, and ward beds at 21 percent.
