DOH logs 1,190 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,190 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, November 17, marking the sixth consecutive day with fewer than 2,000 new infections.

The country's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has now reached 2,820,494.

Active cases have decreased to 23,846.

There were 2,759 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered individuals to 2,750,531.

The DOH also recorded 309 new deaths, increasing the national death toll to 46,117.

Of the active cases, 58 percent have mild symptoms, while 5.2 percent are asymptomatic, 19.60 percent are moderate, 12 percent are severe, and five percent are critical.

Thirty-seven duplicates were removed from the total case count, and 264 recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation.
