DOH: LGUs can resume vax ops in Odette-hit areas if feasible

Local government units affected by Typhoon Odette have the discretion to continue COVID-19 vaccination in evacuation centers, but their immediate priority must be relief and rescue operations for their constituents, according to Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.

Cabotaje noted that the decision to vaccinate evacuees depends on the LGU's concentration and that potential side effects of the vaccines must be assessed on a case-to-case basis before administering jabs.

During the second nationwide vaccination drive from December 15 to 17, a total of 2.3 million COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered.

The daily jab count for the drive was approximately 1.1 million on the first day, 759,000 on the second, and 544,000 on the third day.
