Only 87 DOH hospitals implement 'No Balance Billing' policy

Only 87 Department of Health (DOH) hospitals directly under the DOH can accommodate the "No Balance Billing" policy.

This policy only covers patients admitted in the basic accommodation or ward of these 87 DOH hospitals.

Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) hospitals, such as the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, and Philippine Children's Medical Center, are not yet included in the "No Balance Billing" policy.

DOH Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo stated that GOCC hospitals will be included in the policy later, after it is first adopted by the 87 DOH hospitals.

Domingo also mentioned that GOCC hospitals have their own reserved funds and operate on a large budget.

The public can check the list of DOH hospitals on the Facebook page of the Presidential Communications Office.

Patients intending to avail of services under the zero billing policy must request admission to a basic accommodation or ward.
